Within the Kennisland (Knowledgeland) think tank, Lorine van Loon (1981) is involved in the project ‘Images for the Future’, the largest European project relating to the digitalization of audiovisual heritage. Her consultancy work at Kennisland combines her interest in culture and history and professional experience with lobbying and education.
Lorine studied history and later European Studies at the University of Amsterdam. During her studies, Lorine followed an internship at the British Council in London and the European Platform in The Hague, as part of the European Union SOCRATES programme. She carried out research into the effective promotion of a European exchange programme for adult education. She was also co-organiser of two conferences on adult education in the context of the British and Dutch EU presidency.
After graduating, Lorine worked for an international conference bureau, where she wrote conference programmes and training courses. In 2008 she moved to The Hague, where she joined Meines & Partners, a consultancy firm focusing on lobbying, public affairs and strategic communication. For clients in the public and private sectors Lorine carried out research and consultancy work oriented to lobbying in the government and political arenas.
She has now swapped the offices of The Hague for the canals of Amsterdam, where she very much enjoys living, working and making the most of everything the city has to offer.
